Boris Vallejo (Star Wars Posters) was commissioned to paint a canvas for Lucozade using a David and Goliath theme.

Initially this was to be a 6-sheet poster press campaign, but the media schedule soon changed and a landscape version was needed. Due to a tight deadline the artist could only paint a background scene without the heroes.

The task was to comp the figures into the landscape format but as it was a painted canvas, the masking was critical replicating the bold brush strokes of the artist.

The crops for the 48 sheet and 96 sheet were different, so the colour was adjusted to suit the overall look of the formats.

Two different Lucozade bottles were comped in and redrawn to sit them in the painting and the halo and shadows tweaked to enhance the images.
